It's the 1st of Feb' already can you believe.
The sun's shining, there's birdsong in the air and a bit of 'malarky' going on with Mr & Mrs Blackbird.
Thought I'd dust down the ol' gardening tools, take them for a stroll round the garden, remind them of their purpose in life and tickle their fancies.
But NO ... they were having none of it I tell yer ... didn't even stir from their winter hibernation. So I gave 'em a poke, shook their wooden handles, unsprung their coiled spring closures and squeezed their oily blades ...
NOTHING ... except a wimper ...
"Too cold" they cried pitifully ... "you go n' play ...we'll join you when the temperature rises to something well above freezing"
Wussies ...

Ha ha ha ha!!! Just typical huh?
I had to threaten my shovel to get him out of his winter hibernation. I told him that my kids' plastic trowels were happily out there digging, and I had a kitchen spoon with more moxie that I could replace him with. That finally seemed to do the trick..
Jane, I enjoy your blog so much that I want to give you a Versatile Blogger Award. I've announced the award and linked to you on this post, which also has instructions on passing the award on if you wish to:

Seems odd that it's freezing there when it's so warm here. But, I understand your tools' reluctance. I ran over one of mine while I was mowing today!
I'm with the tools on this one - anyway the ground is absolutely solid at the moment. You stay where you are my digging friends - I'd rather be a warm wuss than a cold one
