Brace Yourselves....

Yes...it's a tomato.... a tomoto...singular!
It's not just any tomato, oh no...it's a red tomato.
It's the end of August, summer is plummeting into autumn and now one tomato has decided to turn red. Just another 20 odd plants need to jump on board the 'reddening-wagon' before they're zapped by the first frost.
A month ago I posted that I only had a few fruits, now I have a truckload of beautiful, green, uber-heavy trusses. What they need is sun, sun and a lot more sun. Today we've had terrific thunderstorms, stem-breaking gale force winds, hail and enough rain to sink a battleship.
I fear, like the Raspberry (singular) last month, there may be yet another stampede in the Tidy Garden kitchen for this tomato, so after this posting this one's going into hiding (between 2 slices of bread on my plate!)

What a model tomato! If your others don't turn red before the first frost, fried green tomatoes are delicious (very popular in Alabama). Let me know if you need a recipe. All the best! xx

And what a lovely tomato it is!! We are having to pick ours just as they start to turn red...if we leave them any longer some nasty creature comes to the garden during the night, takes a huge bite out of the ripe ones & then throws them on the ground!!! Dirty rotter!
Hugs, Renee

Why is it that the weather gets crazy just when we need it to be completely boring? I think my tomato plants days are numbered, too. Your tomato is a beauty. Hurry up and devour it!

Well that tomato will make a bigger meal than the raspberry! I think that is the same number of raspberries that I got this year :)

So far this year I've also gotten 0 zucchini and possibly about 5 green beans. The tomatoes are doing well, though. So well that between them and the cucumbers, they've somehow plotted against the green beans. I should cut the tomatoes back to start my cool season veggies but can't bring myself to do it due to all the heavily laden branches.

Wishing some of our sun your way!
