Happy New Year to you all and welcome to the Tidy Garden 2013.
Already the year has started unseasonably mild with temperatures in these parts in respectable sounding double figures. The photo above above was taken a couple of weeks ago back in the day when winter looked like winter and the only place to be was huddled over a hot cup of something...well...er...hot!
The sun shone it's head off the other day enticing Mr TG & I to go for a long walk. It was such a lovely day, no need for the hats n' scarves we'd left the house adorned in. The birds were singing like there was no tomorrow and for a moment you'd be forgiven for thinking spring was just around the corner.
Ah....sighhhhhh....Spring.
Bring it on!

It's so nice to think that spring is just around the corner huh.
I remember it being tshirt weather in March here in the Highlands last year so hopefully there'll be plenty of those strolls for you to take :)

Spring has sprung here in East London too...but winter has a nasty habit of biting back in February, so I am not celebrating proper spring yet! But let's enjoy the weather while we have it, and be thankful for the lower heating bill :-)
How nice to have such mild temperatures. I'm hoping spring arrives early. It's been a cold winter for us. Others may not consider it cold here, but to us, it's horrible! :)
Happy New Year Jane! The weather is mild and it's confusing me as well as the plants!

It has been very springlike for the last couple of days - so lots of long-awaited jobs tackled outdoors. I am always a bit suspicious of mild weather at this time of year - it has a nasty habit of laughing in your face and going back to deep winter.
Your spring-like weather sounds delightful, Jane. Here's wishing that spring will just sneak right in to stay this year. xx :-)
As much as I would love to get out and garden, I need a lot more winter. We haven't had enough cold temps to kill the rose blackspot spores and need more moisture from rain or snow. Spring usually starts for us around early March. But every day that passes is one day closer!
Yesterday morning was lovely here in Sussex. I even moved some plants around - not a great time for that but hey, you have to grab the opportunity. More cold weather on the way I hear. Brrrr. Dave
Hi Jane, even up here in the North East coast it has been 12 and 13c. Still no serious snow as yet, keeping my fingers crossed.
It's spring here in Yorkshire too. We will probably have some cold weather to hold things back a bit, but the days are getting longer and the sun is getting stronger. Hey that rhymed, I've become a poet.
