End-of-Season Temptresses

Helenium Mardi Gras

Whilst hunting for grass seed for a client, these 2 beauties ‘fell’ into my shopping basket.
The fact that they were an end-of-season BOGOF offer is irrelevant and quite how, at 3ft tall’, I didn’t notice their presence in my basket until I was through the checkout is still a mystery.

Thankfully they sit nicely in a gap that had ‘appeared’ in the Tidy Garden…Phew!
What a stroke of luck!

The other is Helenium Moerheim Beauty with its rich, rusty tones.
Thank goodness these 2 look great together.

Beautiful is right! Maybe you need to go back and see if anything else so beautiful accidentally falls in your basket!

What a mysterious stroke of luck! :) That happens to me often during fall, usually with bags of bulbs... I think they must be awfully tipsy on those display stands...

Helenium Mardi Gras was definitely looking for your Moerheim Beauty.
They look beautiful together.

Gaps torture me. They must be filled! I would have bought them, too. :o)

It amazes me just how carelessly plants drop into our shopping baskets or trolleys for that matter!
The look gorgeous Jane, they really complete that border.

They were obviously meant to be, Jayne. Do you think the fairies were at work? P. x

Nice shopping treat! :)

I think these might work for my meadow-I see they like moisture and are deer resistant. Also called sneezeweed hmmm.
Perhaps I'll have sneezing deer.

I had just been thinking how I wished we had planted Helenium. See if I can find a basket like your one first.

Those Helenium are beautiful Jane, they don't seem to cope in my garden here in Caithness so it's always nice to see their beauty elsewhere :)
